Since 1969, Canoe Island French Camp has offered a camping experience unique in the Western states, combining French language acquisition with traditional resident camp activities. Mornings include language classes at all levels of ability, followed by program areas such as French cooking, fencing, theater, arts & crafts, camp newspaper, and photography/darkroom. Afternoon choices include swimming, kayaking, sailing, sports, archery, and arts & crafts. The camp is located on a private, 50 acre island in Washington's beautiful San Juan Islands. We are a member of the Western Association of Independent Camps and are accredited by the American Camping Association, which means we meet the highest standards in the camping industry.
